Rep. Schofield Commends National African American Legislative Organizations for Supporting Lupus Awareness, Treatment Access

ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) commends two national African American legislative organizations for publicly recognizing the impact that lupus has on the African American community. The National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) and the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative (NOBEL) Women each adopted separate resolutions that urge the federal and state governments to provide access to lupus treatment and increase awareness of the disease.

Georgia House Democratic Caucus Subcommittee on COVID-19 Requests Investigation and Audit of Department of Labor

ATLANTA – Members of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus (GHDC) Subcommittee on COVID-19 recently submitted a letter to Attorney General Christopher Carr to request an investigation and audit into the Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) inability to process and pay Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits claims in a timely manner.

Rep. CaMia Hopson Receives Civil Servant of the Year Award for 2020 RICE Awards

ATLANTA – State Representative CaMia Hopson (D-Albany) recently received the Civil Servant of the Year award for the 2020 Rising in Community Excellence (RICE) Awards on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
