Governor Kemp Signs Legislation to Help Detect Dense Breast Tissue

ATLANTA – House Majority Leader Jon Burns (R-Newington) today announced that House Bill 62, or “Margie’s Law,” was signed by Governor Brian Kemp on Thursday, May 2, 2019. HB 62 will require health care facilities that conduct mammogram screenings to notify a patient if they are found to have dense breast tissue. Governor Kemp Signs the “Blind Bill” Sponsored by Rep. Gilliard

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D- Garden City) announced that House Bill 79, or the “Blind Bill,” was signed into law by Governor Brian Kemp on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Sponsored by Rep. Gilliard, HB 79 will prevent government agencies and local authorities from discriminating against parents and legal guardians who are blind.
