ATLANTA – State Representative Sharon Cooper (R-Marietta), Chairman of the House Health and Human Services Committee, was recently honored by the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) as the first recipient of its Hall of Fame Award during the organization’s House of Delegates (HOD) meeting on Jekyll Island on October 20, 2018.

Calhoun, Clay and Randolph Counties Added to Disaster Declaration

ATLANTA – State Representative Gerald Greene (R-Cuthbert) today announced that Calhoun, Clay and Randolph counties were added to a disaster declaration and are now eligible to apply for federal disaster assistance for losses from Hurricane Michael. Rep. Glanton Participated in Leadership Program for Select Southern State Government Officials

ATLANTA – State Representative Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro) recently participated in the 2018 Center for the Advancement of Leadership Skills (CALS), the leadership development program of the Southern Legislative Conference (SLC) of The Council of State Governments. This annual program brings together state executive, legislative and judicial branch officials from the SLC’s 15 member states and allows them to engage in conversations in a strictly nonpartisan environment. Rep. Nix Urges Voters to Vote ‘Yes’ on Amendment 5

ATLANTA – State Representative Randy Nix (R-LaGrange) urges Georgia voters to vote yes on Amendment 5 on the November 6 ballot.  The fifth amendment would affect counties with more than one school system and would allow the system or systems with a majority of the students to call for a sales tax referendum to fund school construction.
