Rep. Stovall Appointed to Georgia Literacy Commission
ATLANTA – State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Forest Park) was recently appointed by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education and Literacy For All to serve on the Georgia Literacy Commission. This commission is comprised of 20 members who are interested in changing the state’s trajectory relating to low literacy and are tasked with studying national best practices in literacy improvements. Rep. Carson to Chair House Study Committee on Distracted Driving
ATLANTA – State Representative John Carson (R- Marietta) was recently appointed by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to serve as Chairman of the House Study Committee on Distracted Driving. This ten-member study committee was created by House Resolution 282 during the recent legislative session and will examine whether changes to state law may help reduce instances of distracted driving.
