Rep. Kasey Carpenter’s Legislation to Expand Eligibility for Private School Tuition Scholarships Signed into Law by Governor Kemp

ATLANTA – State Representative Kasey Carpenter (R-Dalton), chairman of the House Creative Arts and Entertainment Committee, today announces that House Bill 328, legislation he sponsored to expand eligibility and adjust scholarship funding requirements under Georgia’s student scholarship organization (SSO) program for private school tuition scholarships, has been signed into law by Governor Brian Kemp.

Rep. Todd Jones Applauds Signing of the ‘Voluntary Portable Benefit Plan Act’

ATLANTA – State Representative Todd Jones (R-South Forsyth), chairman of the House Technology and Infrastructure Innovation Committee, today announces that House Bill 987, also known as the “Voluntary Portable Benefit Plan Act,” was signed into law by Governor Brian Kemp. Sponsored by Rep. Jones, HB 987 codifies a voluntary framework for independent contractors to receive portable benefits through dedicated accounts, allowing contributions without affecting their employment classification.
