ATLANTA – Yesterday, Governor Sonny Perdue signed House Bill 123 into law. This legislation was authored by Representative Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City) to close a loophole in Georgia’s child molestation statute.
House Bill 123 fixes a problem created by a mid-nineties Georgia Supreme Court ruling in which the Court, in a close decision, interpreted the statutory definition of child molestation to require that a perpetrator be physically present with a victim in order to be prosecuted for child molestation. Rep. Allen Peake Praises Signing of HB 457
ATLANTA – Today Governor Sonny Perdue signed House Bill 457. This bill expands the current protections for aged and disabled adults to include individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Representative Mitchell Speaks on House Bill 41
ATLANTA- Today state Representative Billy Mitchell (D- Stone Mountain) announced his hopes that House Bill 41 will be passed by the General Assembly. HB 41 would discontinue and prevent the state from making tax payer funded investments in companies who produce music with obscene lyrics.
