ATLANTA—State Representative Ronnie Mabra (D–Fayetteville) commented today on Governor Nathan Deal signing into law House Bill 828. Sponsored by Rep. Mabra, HB 828 takes measures to protect accident victims from “ambulance chasers,” or attorneys and doctors who are eager for insurance claims. Rep. Sandra Scott Serves as Guest Speaker for First Graduating Class of Orange Duffle Bag Initiative

ATLANTA— State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) appeared as a guest speaker for the Clayton County first graduating class of the Orange Duffle Bag (ODB) Initiative on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Rep. Jason Spencer Comments on Healthcare Freedom Act, Signed Today by Governor

ATLANTA – State Representative Jason Spencer (R-Woodbine) commented today on Governor Nathan Deal signing into law House Bill 943, legislation which establishes that neither the State of Georgia, or any of its departments, will use money or human resources to advance the voluntary expansion of the state’s eligibility in the Affordable Care Act. Rep. Spencer introduced the language of HB 943 that was originally contained in HB 707, which was sponsored by Rep. Spencer during this year’s legislative session. Rep. England Appointed to Rural Hospital Stabilization Committee

ATLANTA – State Representative Terry England (R-Auburn) today was appointed by Governor Deal to the Rural Hospital Stabilization Committee. The 15-member committee will identify needs of the rural hospital community and research potential solutions, such as addressing cash flow issues or encouraging hospitals to modify their business plans to meet the needs of their community while maintaining financial stability. Gov. Deal Signs Balanced Budget Compact, Co-Sponsored by Rep. Welch

ATLANTA—State Representative Andy Welch (R–McDonough) commented today on Governor Nathan Deal signing House Bill 794, otherwise known as the Compact for a Balanced Budget. Co-sponsored by Rep.
