ATLANTA- The Georgia House of Representatives today passed House Bill 863 by a vote of 161-2.  Sponsored by State Representative Katie Dempsey (R-Rome), HB 863 amends the Charitable Solicitations Act by requiring that unattended donation bins be clearly labeled for either charitable or non-charitable purposes. ATLANTA — State Representative Wendell Willard (R-Sandy Springs) and other members of the Georgia House of Representatives yesterday were proud to host the fifth annual Georgia Rides to the Capitol event.  The event was held to raise support for House Bill 988, legislation introduced by Willard that would require three feet of safe passing space between motor vehicles and cyclists. Representative Hill Comments on Legislation to Protect Georgians from Federal Health Care System

ATLANTA — After a final vote of 111-61, House Resolution 1086 failed to gain the 2/3 constitutional majority vote needed to pass the Georgia House of Representatives.   Sponsored by state Representative Calvin Hill (R-Canton), HR 1086 is a constitutional amendment that would have given Georgians the opportunity to decide in the upcoming general election if individuals and companies should be allowed to opt out of the possible federal health care system currently under consideration by the United States Congress.  The constitutional amendment would have also protected Georgia companies and citizens from prosecution if they choose to purchase health care services outside of the new healthcare system.
