ATLANTA— State Representative Kimberly Alexander (D-Hiram) recently participated in the National Foundation for Women Legislators’ (NFWL) 2017 Office Depot Foundation Backpack Program.
This annual program brings NFWL women together with children from their communities and helps them to distribute backpacks and supplies to children and schools in need.
“This is an excellent program by the National Foundation for Women Legislators, and I was elated to participate in this year’s Backpack Program,” said Rep. Alexander. “It was priceless to see the smiles on the faces of these deserving children in our community.”
On September 9, 2017, Representative Alexander participated in Tallatoona Community Action Partnership’s 50th anniversary celebration at Taylor Farm Park in Paulding County where she distributed 150 backpacks to children in the community. The event was free to the public, and also featured kids’ activities, entertainment, games, vendors that provided information on public safety, social service, and conducted health screenings.
Tallatoona Community Action Partnership Inc. serves eight counties in Georgia, totaling approximately 1.3 million people. Within these right counties, more than 150,000 live in poverty and the majority of whom are children, aged and/or disabled.

Representative Kimberly Alexander represents the citizens of District 66, which includes portions of Douglas and Paulding counties. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2012 and currently serves as the Minority Caucus Treasurer and the Treasurer for the bipartisan House Women’s Caucus.
