ATLANTA – State Representative Angela Moore (D-Decatur) today announced that she will pay tribute to former State Representative Pam Stephenson, who previously served House District 90, through a morning order on the House floor before the 2021 legislative session adjourns. She also plans to present Rep. Stephenson’s daughter with a privileged resolution in honor of the former House member.
“Pamela was my mentor and my friend, and in her service, she understood the connection to the people in the district, as well the needs of the people in the state of Georgia,” said Rep. Moore. “She understood how important it is to have a state healthcare system for the people. I am overjoyed to honor Pamela’s service to the state and proud to fill her seat. Pamela served with dignity, heartfelt-intention and dedication. I have a lovely pair of shoes to fill.”
In the spirit of Women’s History Month, Rep. Moore seeks to honor the life achievements and public service of former Rep. Stephenson. She also commends Rep. Stephenson’s work as a female Georgia legislator and to include her works with the Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority (FDHA).
In addition, Rep. Moore is actively seeking to partner with the FDHA in identifying an appropriate Grady Health Systems site to dedicate in Rep. Stephenson’s honor and will be present at the official unveiling.
After Rep. Stephenson withdrew her candidacy for House District 90, Rep. Moore was elected to fill the seat during special election run-off on March 9, 2021.
State Representative Angela Moore represents the citizens of House District 90, which includes portions of DeKalb, Rockdale and Henry counties. She was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2021 and currently serves on the Creative Arts & Entertainment, Code Revision and Higher Education committees.
