ATLANTA – State Representative Becky Evans (D-Atlanta) will partner with DeKalb County Habitat for Humanity for a home repair project for Jacqueline Sawyer Williams, a local DeKalb County woman, on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 12 – 4 p.m. at Lynwood Park in DeKalb County, Georgia.
“I am excited to partner with DeKalb Habitat for Humanity on MLK Day for the third year in a row to serve our community,” said Rep. Evans. “I am especially pleased that our work will enable Ms. Williams, a trailblazer in one of Georgia’s oldest black communities, to remain in her family’s home of 84 years and age in place.”
In addition, Rep. Evans is recruiting volunteers to work with DeKalb Habitat for Humanity to repair the Sawyer home, which is home to one of the 400 plus original families that still remain in Lynwood Park.
Volunteers who are interested in signing up for the event may register here.
