Rep. Belton Honors Public Safety Heroes from Morgan County

ATLANTA – State Representative Dave Belton (R-Buckhead) recently honored three public safety officers for their assistance during a fatal incident in Morgan County last Halloween. Georgia State Trooper First Class Nathan Bradley, Georgia State Patrol Corporal Richard Thacker, and Morgan County Sheriff Robert Markley were commended on the House floor with House Resolution 1137 on Thursday, January 28. RepBelton MorganCo Officers

“It was my honor to recognize these brave, compassionate men before the House,” said Rep. Belton. “The story is tragic, but the actions taken by these men truly embody what it means to be a public servant. I hope their heroic actions serve as an example to our state and nation the overwhelming impact our public safety officers can have on the lives of citizens and the force for good that they can be.”

Trooper Nathan Bradley made national news after caring for four Morgan County children whose parents died in a car accident on October 31, 2015. He, along with Corporal Thacker, his wife Allison, and Sheriff Markley fed and entertained the children until their family could arrive the next morning. In addition to establishing trust funds to cover their higher education costs, Trooper Bradley also set-up a GoFundMe account to help the children, which has raised more than $500,000 to date.
