ATLANTA— State Representative Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain) issued the following statement regarding yesterday’s Supreme Court decision in King v. Burwell:
“I was delighted to hear that the Supreme Court upheld the availability of subsidies when it comes to the Affordable Care Act. At the onset of the Affordable Care Act, I hosted a number of Town Hall meetings and information sessions, complete with navigators and community care providers, educating and assisting District 94 constituents with sign up.
We all know that affordable healthcare had been elusive for millions until the introduction of the ACA, including the almost 500,000 Georgians impacted by yesterday’s ruling, but I am happy to say that I can breathe easier now that this Supreme Court decision has been handed-down.”
Representative Karen Bennett represents the citizens of Districts 94, which includes portions of DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves on the Code Revision, Economic Development & Tourism, Health & Human Services, and Regulated Industries committees.
