Rep. Black Announces Transportation Grants for Valdosta, Boston

ATLANTA – State Representative Ellis Black (R-Valdosta) recently announced that the cities of Boston and Valdosta will receive Georgia Transportation Enhancement Grants. Boston was approved for $27,216 and Valdosta for $19,490.

“It’s always a pleasure to have a small role in getting good things done for our community,” said Rep. Black. “This grant will help complete beautification projects along roadsides in Boston and Valdosta.”

The Georgia Transportation Enhancement Grant, also known as the GATEway Grant Program, provides funding for roadside enhancement projects in Georgia. Local governments and state agencies are among the organizations eligible for a maximum of $50,000 in funding. Grant funding comes from contributory value fees paid by outdoor advertising companies to the Georgia Department of Transportation for vegetation removal at outdoor advertising signs.
