Rep. Bonnie Rich Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2019-2020 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Bonnie Rich (R-Suwanee) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 14, 2019, marking her first day of the 2019-2020 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 155th legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Rich to the Judiciary, Retirement and Ways & Means committees.

“More bills pass through the Judiciary and Ways & Means committees than any other committees in the House, and the Retirement Committee oversees the state and teachers’ retirement systems,” said Rep. Rich. “I ran for office to make a difference for my community and the entire state, and I’m excited that I will be able to hit the ground running.  I recognize that these are not committees to which freshmen legislators are typically assigned, and I plan to work hard to be a valuable resource and member.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
