ATLANTA – State Representative Brenda Lopez Romero (D-Norcross) was recently selected to participate in Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2020, which also marks the 50th class of the Leadership Atlanta program. The program explores critical community issues and builds relationships among established leaders in the metro Atlanta area.
“I am excited to participate in the Leadership Atlanta program to learn how to better serve the greater Atlanta community,” said Rep. Lopez Romero. “It is an honor to be able to work alongside other leaders through this impactful program, and I am eager to build new relationships, which will not only benefit the citizens of House District 99, but the metro region as a whole.”
Leadership Atlanta selects approximately 80 candidates to participate in a nine-month, executive-level series of events, including retreats, full-day seminars, service projects, discussion groups and community tours. The program seeks to examine issues that impact the metro Atlanta area and allows program members to gain insight to further address these challenges in their communities.
The program’s applicants hold positions of leadership in their employment or volunteer organization and display mature judgment and exceptional leadership qualities in their professional roles. The candidates chosen for the Class of 2020 program include leaders from business, government, non-profit and volunteer sectors who reflect the metro area’s diversity of gender, race, religion and sexual orientation.
