ATLANTA – State Representative Jay Powell (R-Camilla), Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, recently appointed State Representative Brett Harrell (R-Snellville) to serve as the Chairman of the Ad Valorem Tax Subcommittee.
“Representative Harrell has demonstrated a strong understanding of tax policy and its impact on our state and its citizens, and I am confident in his leadership ability as Chair of the Ad Valorem Tax Subcommittee,” said Chairman Powell. “His passion for protecting private property rights will serve this committee well.”

Representative Brett Harrell represents citizens of District 106, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. First elected to the House of Representatives in 2010, he currently serves as the Vice Chairman on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee. He also serves on the Regulated Industries, Transportation, and Ways & Means committees.
