ATLANTA – State Representative CaMia Hopson (D-Albany) was sworn in for her second term in the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 11, 2021, which was the first day of the 2021-2022 legislative term. In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Hopson to the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Economic Development & Tourism, Special Rules and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass value-based legislation that would benefit every resident of our state,” said Rep. Hopson. “My first two years in office were truly a privilege, and I’m honored to be able to return for a second term. I am thrilled to continue serving on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, State Planning & Community Affairs and Special Rules committees and am equally excited to be a new member of the Economic Development & Tourism Committee.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative CaMia Hopson represents the citizens of District 153, which includes portions of Dougherty County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Special Rules, Economic Development & Tourism and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
