ATLANTA – State Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta) will hold a press conference for the first annual Provider Appreciation Day on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. on the first floor of the State Capitol.
Rep. Cannon will be joined by State Representatives Erica Thomas (D-Austell), Marvin Lim (D-Norcross), Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta), Kim Alexander (D-Hiram), Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates) and Miriam Paris (D-Macon). These legislators seek to celebrate women’s health care providers, such as doctors, midwives, labor doulas and certified lactation consultants. These legislators will discuss state funding for the State Capitol’s Mamava lactation pod, recognize Georgia’s advancements in prenatal and postpartum health care, as well as highlight the importance of extending the duration of postpartum Medicaid coverage for new mothers from six months to one year.
