State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah) will host a road dedication ceremony in honor of Flau’jae Johnson on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Kingdom of Life Christian Fellowship in Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Flau’jae Johnson is one of the nation’s youngest female hip-hop and athletic ambassadors. She appeared on Lifetime Network’s “The Rap Game” and was a contestant of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” She also received several awards as a high school and college basketball player.
During the 2023 legislative session, Rep. Gilliard sponsored House Resolution 492 to dedicate the intersection of State Route 204 at West Montgomery Cross Rd. in Chatham County in honor of Ms. Johnson. This resolution was incorporated into House Resolution 256, which serves as the Georgia General Assembly’s annual road/bridge dedication legislation.
