ATLANTA – State Representative Chris Erwin (R-Homer) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 14, 2019, marking his first day of the 2019-2020 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 155th legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.
In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Erwin to the Education, Insurance, Intragovernmental Coordination and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
“I was honored to put my hand on my Bible and take an oath to faithfully serve our District and the State of Georgia and protect and defend the Georgia and United States Constitutions,” said Rep. Erwin. “I am excited about the hard work we have ahead and look forward to making the citizens of the 28th District proud.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Chris Erwin represents the citizens of District 28, which includes all of Banks and Stephens counties and portions of Habersham County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently on the Education, Insurance, Intragovernmental Coordination and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
