ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Christian Coomer (R-Cartersville) as the Chairman of the House Transportation Committee. Rep. Coomer will also serve as a member on the Appropriations, Banks & Banking, Judiciary Non-Civil, Juvenile Justice, and Retirement committees.
“It is an honor to be appointed as Chairman of the House Transportation Committee,” said Rep. Coomer. “I would like to thank Speaker Ralston and the members of the Committee on Assignments for this honor. The issue of transportation is at a pivotal point in Georgia, and I look forward to continuing the great work that this committee has already set in motion.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Christian Coomer represents the citizens of District 14, which includes portions of Bartow and Floyd counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as Chairman of the Transportation Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and the Banks & Banking, Judiciary Non-Civil, Juvenile Justice, and Retirement committees.
