ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus today elected State Representative Chuck Efstration (R-Dacula) as the House Majority Leader for the 2023-2024 legislative term during caucus elections on Monday, November 14, 2022.
“I want to thank my colleagues in the House Majority Caucus for entrusting me to protect and unite our caucus as their Majority Leader,” said House Majority Leader Efstration. “I also want to thank Speaker David Ralston for teaching me to have sincere respect for our legislative institution and for being a mentor to me all of these years. As I take on this new responsibility, I will always have this deep admiration for the House of Representatives and the wisdom of our Republican members as my guide. I am committed to protecting the united vision of the House Republican Caucus and look forward to building a stronger caucus that reflects the diverse communities we have been elected to serve.”
In this position, Majority Leader Efstration is responsible for leading the House Republican Caucus. This will be Majority Leader Efstration’s sixth term in the Georgia House of Representatives and his first year as Majority Leader.
Representative Chuck Efstration currently represents the citizens of District 104, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2013 and currently serves as the House Majority Leader. He also serves as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and the Rules, Code Revision, Ethics, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Insurance and Juvenile Justice committees. He also serves as an Ex-Officio member of the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee.
