ATLANTA – State Representative Chuck Sims (R-Ambrose) joins with Governor Nathan Deal to issue an executive order to offer a reward to anyone with information regarding the murder of Edith Sheffield.
“The Georgia Bureau of Investigation still has not been able to identify who murdered Edith Sheffield,” said Rep. Sims. “As a leader in Coffee County, it is my duty to join with the Governor and GBI to help find Edith Sheffield’s murderer.”
Governor Nathan Deal has offered a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the murder of Edith Sheffield.
Edith Sheffield’s body was found among the ruins on Saturday, January 19, 2013; one day after a house fire claimed her home. Sheffield’s body was not identified until the following Tuesday. Authorities later determined that Sheffield’s death was the result of a homicide. Currently, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department and GBI have no solid leads in the case.
