Rep. Clay Cox Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2017-2018 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Clay Cox (R-Lilburn) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2017, marking his first day of the 2017-2018 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 154th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am honored to serve my neighbors in the greater Lilburn area as a member of the Georgia General Assembly,” said Rep. Cox.

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Cox to the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunication, Juvenile Justice, and Transportation committees.

“I look forward to working on these important committees as traffic, energy costs and increased gang activity are very real challenges facing our state,” added Rep. Cox. “I thank Speaker Ralston for his confidence in me.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Clay Cox represents the citizens of District 108, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2016, and currently serves on the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunication, Juvenile Justice, and Transportation committees.
