ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) recently named State Representative Clay Cox (R-Lilburn) as the Vice Chairman of the House Juvenile Justice Committee. Rep. Cox will also serve as a member on the Banks and Banking, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications and Transportation committees.
“As state leaders, it is essential that we protect our state’s most vulnerable citizens – our children and youth,” said Rep. Cox. “The Juvenile Justice Committee plays a critical role in ensuring all of our state’s children are taken care of, and it is an honor to serve in this new leadership role. I look forward to working diligently on behalf of Georgia’s children as Vice Chairman of the Juvenile Justice Committee.”
Formerly known as Children and Youth, the House Juvenile Justice Committee was recreated during the 2013 legislative session to serve more as a judiciary committee over juvenile related issues.
