ATLANTA – State Representative Darlene Taylor (R-Thomasville) recently traveled to Georgia Southern University in Statesboro to attend meetings of the House of Representatives’ Rural Development Council. The three-day meeting focused on rural healthcare related topics.
“I am honored to be a member of the House Rural Development Council and be afforded the opportunity to travel the state to study the plights of rural Georgia,” said Rep. Taylor. “This particular series of meetings was vitally important as we discussed healthcare needs across our rural areas. Access to quality healthcare is a necessity, and I hope that this council will be able to craft legislative solutions to address our healthcare needs in rural Georgia.”
This council, which was created by House Resolution 389 during the 2017 legislative session, will work with rural communities to find ways to encourage economic growth.
