“I often use the words of President Eisenhower,” said Rep. Taylor. “He honorably represented the American people in many ways and spoke wisdom from his heart. He said, ‘Our real problem… is not our strength today; it is rather the vital necessity of action today to ensure our strength tomorrow.’  The men and women of our Military have served our nation and lived by this every day, and I feel humbled and honored when I am able to be with and assist our Veterans.”

Rep. Taylor was recognized for her service and contributions to the advancement of American Legion programs and activities. Rep. Taylor is a frequent visitor to the Post and has helped in many of their projects, including supporting and providing services to local veterans and military families.

The American Legion is the largest wartime veterans service organization with nearly 2 million members and more than 12,000 posts in communities throughout America. The American Legion was established by an act of Congress in 1919. Today, the organization is active throughout the United States, supporting current military personnel and veterans, and sponsoring American Legion Baseball, Boys State, Oratorical Contests and other activities for youth.
