Rep. Deborah Silcox Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2017-2018 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Deborah Silcox (R-Atlanta) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2017, marking her first day of the 2017-2018 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 154th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am humbled, grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve the citizens of District 52 during the 2017 legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly,” said Rep. Silcox.

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Silcox to the Health & Human Services; Judiciary Non-Civil; and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.

“I want to thank Speaker Ralston and House leadership for these terrific committee assignments,” added Rep. Silcox. “I look forward to the opportunity to improve the status of the healthcare and criminal justice systems for all Georgians through my hard work on each of these committees.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Deborah Silcox represents the citizens of District 52, which includes a portion of Fulton County, including the cities of Sandy Springs and Atlanta. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2016, and currently serves on the Health & Human Services, Judiciary Non-Civil, and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
