Rep. Demetrius Douglas Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2021-2022 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Demetrius Douglas (D-Stockbridge) was sworn in for his fifth term in the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 11, 2021, which was the first day of the 2021-2022 legislative session. In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Douglas to the Special Committee on Election Integrity and the Banks & Banking, Health & Human Services, Insurance, Intragovernmental Coordination and Motor Vehicles committees.

“As I return to the State Capitol to begin my fifth term as a state legislator, I am still humbled and grateful to work on behalf of my district in the hallowed halls,” said Rep. Douglas. “I am honored to have been appointed to so many important committees that oversee bills that have a direct impact on the residents in House District 78.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Demetrius Douglas represents the citizens of District 78, which includes portions of Clayton and Henry counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2012 and currently serves on the Special Committee on Election Integrity and the Banks & Banking, Insurance, Health & Human Services, Intragovernmental Coordination and Motor Vehicles committees.
