ATLANTA – State Representative Ed Rynders (R-Albany), Chairman of the House Governmental Affairs Committee, the committee which has oversight over legislation dealing with state, county, and municipal governments, today released the following statement:
“It appears there is considerable confusion regarding the impact of the two study committee reports on annexation, deannexation and incorporation, and I wish to clarify what these documents mean for the House Committee on Governmental Affairs: The contents of the reports include non-binding policy recommendations, which may serve to inform deliberations; however, these suggestions will not preclude consideration of any legislation by the Governmental Affairs Committee during the 2016 session.”
Representative Ed Rynders represents the citizens of District 152, which includes all of Lee and Worth counties, and a portion of Sumter County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2002, and is currently the Chairman of the House Governmental Affairs Committee, Secretary of the Health & Human Services, Appropriations, and Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment Committees, as well as Ex-Officio of the Ways and Means Committee. Rep. Rynders is a member of the Intragovernmental Coordination and Transportation committees.
