ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments recently named State Representative Gary Richardson (R-Evans) as Vice Chairman of the House Public and Community Health Committee.
“Thank you, Speaker Burns and the Committee on Assignments, for appointing me to serve in these capacities,” said Rep. Richardson. “I am passionate about public health and public safety, as both seek to protect Georgians’ well-being and sense of security. I look forward to the positive impact that our work in these committees will make on the citizens of our great state.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
The House Public and Community Health Committee works on public and community health initiatives to ensure quality healthcare for all Georgians.

Representative Gary Richardson represents the citizens of District 125, which includes portions of Columbia and McDuffie counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2024 and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Public and Community Health Committee. He also serves on the Public Safety and Homeland Security and Transportation committees.
