Rep. Hanner Elected Chairman of the Rural Caucus

ATLANTA – State Representative Bob Hanner (R-Parrott) has been elected chairman of the House Rural Caucus, the largest non-partisan caucus in the Georgia House of Representatives.

“I am honored to be chosen to lead the Rural Caucus as their elected chair,” said Rep. Hanner. “As chair of the Rural Caucus, I look forward to working with leaders from both sides of the aisle, because the true key to the Caucus’ success has always been our ability to work together in a non-partisan manner for the betterment of Georgia’s rural areas and rural communities.”

Consisting of approximately 55 House members, the Rural Caucus was created six years ago to address issues affecting rural areas and rural communities.

The caucus also elected Representative Barbara Massey Reece (D-Menlo) as Vice Chairman, Representative Carol Fullerton (D-Albany) as Secretary, and Representative Tommy Benton (R-Jefferson) as Treasurer.
