ATLANTA – House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) recently appointed State Representative Heath Clark (R-Warner Robins) to the House Study Committee on Base Realignment and Closure.
“I am grateful Speaker Ralston has given me the opportunity to serve on this committee,” said Rep. Clark. “I believe that through this study committee my colleagues and I will learn how to better protect our military installations from the possibility of closure and also learn how the state can partner with our defense communities to increase their mission capabilities, which will in turn bring more jobs to Georgia.”
This fifteen member study committee, Chaired by State Representative Dave Belton (R-Buckhead), is established by House Resolution 1135 and will examine how to protect Georgia’s military installations from a future federal base realignment and closure action.
