Rep. Hopson Appointed Southeastern Regional Legislative Chair of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

ATLANTA – State Representative CaMia Hopson (D-Albany) was recently appointed to serve as the Southeastern Regional Legislative Chair of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., which is an organization that advocates for legislation and policies on behalf of children in the U.S.

“I am excited to continue to serve in this capacity for the Southeastern Region of Jack and Jill of America,” said Rep. Hopson. “I am grateful to Regional Director Darlene Washington for choosing me to lead and partner with the regional legislative chairs as we work to better the lives of children. As a mother, I have a duty to legislate on behalf of not only my children, but all children. I especially look forward to bringing together teens and moms from across the United States at our nation’s capital next year and allowing them to use their voices for change.”

As the regional legislative chair, Rep. Hopson leads a committee comprised of 22 women from across the southeastern region. The southeastern region of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. This is Rep. Hopson’s second time serving as the regional legislative chair. She was reappointed by the organization’s regional director, Darlene Washington.
