ATLANTA – State Representative Henry “Wayne” Howard (D-Augusta) today announced that Justin “Jip” DeLoach, Augusta native and professional middle weight boxer, will appear on Augusta’s “Parade of Quartets” television program on Sunday, June 29, 2014.
“I am proud to have such a legendary boxer from right here in Augusta as a guest on our program,” said Rep. Howard. “Justin’s success is a testament to his hard work and dedication. It is an honor to have him join us on the show.”
On Sunday’s episode, DeLoach will discuss his career and community outreach initiative, “Team DeLoach.” DeLoach will also receive a copy of House Resolution 1985, which Rep. Howard sponsored during the 2014 Georgia General Assembly legislative session in honor of DeLoach.
DeLoach has won numerous titles throughout his boxing career, including Georgia Games Gold Medalist in 2006-2012, State Silver Gloves Champion in 2008-2010 and U.S. Men State Champion in 2011 and 2012. DeLoach graduated from Butler High School in 2012, before signing with Al Haymon and Golden Boy. He is currently trained by Ronnie Shields and Danny Arnold.
Co-hosted by Rep. Howard, “Parade of Quartets” airs on Sundays at 10 a.m. on WJBF-TV6 and 10 p.m. on MeTv. First broadcasted in the 1950s, “Parade of Quartets” is Augusta’s longest running program on local network television. The show highlights local and national gospel artists, as well as providing Sunday morning prayer and community announcements.
