ATLANTA – State Representative Imani Barnes (D-Tucker) has been selected as an honoree for the Single Mom Network Awards in the government/politics category. Rep. Barnes will be presented with her award during a ceremony on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Peachtree Corners City Hall Event Center.
“As a devoted single mother to a growing son, I am extremely humbled to receive this recognition,” said Rep. Barnes. “During my first legislative session, I introduced a number of bills to address the needs of single parent households just like mine. I am lucky to be surrounded by single moms who aim to be exceptional examples for their own children, and these women inspire me to keep fighting the good fight next session.”
This award ceremony will celebrate and honor single moms like Rep. Barnes who are excelling in their careers and or businesses while also supporting their communities. During the second annual awards ceremony, the organization will also launch the Single Mom Life Magazine.
The network will also feature Rep. Barnes’ story in an upcoming docuseries, which aims to change the narrative around single motherhood by how these moms prevail against obstacles and obtain success in major corporations, arts, entertainment, small business, government and more.
The Single Mom Network is an organization developed to assist in connecting single moms to the resources they need to be successful in their personal lives, business and careers.
