ATLANTA – The Georgia House Democratic Caucus re-elected State Representative James Beverly (R-Macon) as the House Minority Leader for the 2023-2024 legislative term during caucus elections on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
“Our caucus and leadership team has fought valiantly against far right policies, and I plan to continue that work as Minority Leader for the next term,” said Minority Leader Beverly. “I look forward to leading our caucus, engaging and building consensus around the important work that our members do.”
In this position, Minority Leader Beverly is responsible for leading the House Democratic Caucus.
This will be Minority Leader Beverly’s seventh term in the Georgia House of Representatives and his second term as the Minority Leader.
Representative James Beverly currently represents the citizens of District 143, which includes portions of Bibb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and currently serves as House Minority Leader. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and on the Ethics, Health & Human Services, Retirement, Rules, Small Business Development and Special Rules committees.
