ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus nominated House Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones (R-Milton) as the caucus nominee for her current position during caucus elections on Monday, November 14, 2016.
“I am thankful and humbled to receive this nomination from the House Republican Caucus,” said Speaker Pro-Tempore Jones. “I am committed 100 percent to the success of our Majority Caucus and to that of the entire House. Let us move with a sense of urgency to accomplish the important tasks that will tangibly improve the lives of Georgians. I trust and stand with my colleagues to take Georgia to an even brighter, more optimistic place than it has ever been before.”
As a Majority Caucus nominee, Speaker Pro-Tempore Jones will now be voted upon by the Georgia House of Representatives on the first day of the 2017 legislative session, which is set for Monday, January 9, 2017.
