ATLANTA – State Representative Jeff Jones (R-Brunswick), along with members of the Long County Fire Department, recently participated in a summer reading program for children. Additionally, Rep. Jones joined members of the Long County Sheriff’s Office and the Long County Fire Department recently to conduct summer training sessions on fire safety and active shooter training.
“It was a privilege to join with members of the fire department and sheriff’s office to participate in these local, educational events,” said Rep. Jones. “It is crucial that we partner together to work to continually improve public safety for our citizens, as well as promote reading and education among our youth.”
The Long County Sheriff’s Office held an active shooter training at Long County High School on Thursday, July 19, 2018, and the Long County Fire Department held a fire safety seminar for children at the Long County Library. Further, Rep. Jones took part in a summer reading program for children where he read the book, “Never Play Music Right Next to the Zoo.”

Representative Jeff Jones represents the citizens of District 167, which includes portions of Glynn, Long and McIntosh counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2014 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Motor Vehicles Committee. He also serves on the Insurance, Interstate Cooperation and Science and Technology committees.
