ATLANTA – Representative Jeff May (R-Monroe) has been appointed Chairman of the Ways and Means’ Subcommittee on Tax Reform.
“It is an honor to have been chosen to lead this subcommittee,” said Rep. May. “With the numerous challenges in our present economy people want to see real tax reform. Several bills are currently assigned to this committee and I look forward to hearing the presentations and debating the merits of each proposed bill.”
As Chairman of the Tax Reform Subcommittee, Rep. May will oversee any legislation that would lead to a comprehensive revision of the Georgia tax code.
Rep. Larry O’Neal (R-Bonaire), Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, said he named Rep. May to chair the subcommittee because, “As a business owner, Rep. May understands the importance of tax reform as well as its effects on large and small businesses, and the individual tax payers of Georgia. This, along with his proven leadership abilities, makes him an obvious choice to chair this subcommittee.”
