ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Joe Campbell (R-Camilla) as the Vice Chairman of the House Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee.
“I am grateful to Speaker Burns for placing his confidence in me for this leadership role,” said Rep. Campbell. “Agriculture is the number one industry in Georgia and particularly strong in my district. Supporting this vital industry has been a key priority for me since I was first elected in 2020, and I’m looking forward to helping shape the state’s agriculture policies this next term.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
The House Agricultural and Consumer Affairs Committee hears legislation that impacts Georgia’s largest economic industry, agriculture. Other areas of concern are human nutrition, consumer consumption of food and its safety aspects and the robust plant industry.
