ATLANTA – State Representative Josh Bonner (R-Fayetteville) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2017, marking his first day of the 2017-2018 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 154th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the good folks of District 72 and the great state of Georgia,” said Rep. Bonner. “As we move forward with this legislative session, it is my desire to maintain the same high level of representation for our district as my predecessors.”
In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Bonner to the Economic Development & Tourism; Human Relations & Aging; and Industry and Labor committees.
“Now that committees have been assigned, it is time to get to work,” added Rep. Bonner. “Georgia ranks as the number one state in which to do business, and it is important that we continue to attract businesses to enhance the opportunities for Georgians to take advantage of new and existing jobs. I look forward to working with members of each committee in order to achieve that goal.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
