ATLANTA – State Representative Jutt Howard (R-Carrollton) was recently nominated by Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to participate in the 21st Annual Emerging Legislative Leaders Program, which will take place at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business from July 7 – 10, 2025. This program is designed for legislators who have recently begun their careers in public service and who demonstrate the skills and aptitude to attain positions of greater political responsibility.
“It is an honor to have been nominated by Speaker Burns and selected to participate in the 21st Annual Emerging Legislative Leaders Program,” said Rep. Howard. “I am grateful to my constituents who elected me to serve my first term in the Georgia House and my House colleagues for their mentorship. I look forward to expanding my legislative knowledge and leadership skills during this program and bringing that insight back with me to the Capitol to better serve the great people of Georgia.”
The Emerging Legislative Leaders Program seeks to develop the leadership potential of emerging political leaders for the challenges of the 21st century. The program is a collaborative effort of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Administration. Rep. Howard will be part of a class of 57 legislators from 47 states who have been chosen to take part in classroom discussions and programming, led by a team of professors from the Darden School of Business.
