ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain) recently welcomed approximately 50 members of the Shiloh High School Concert Choir to the State Capitol. The 300-member choir was recognized with House Resolution 1633, which was sponsored by Rep. Bennett.
“I am so very proud to be able to call attention to the outstanding abilities of such a fine group of students,” said Rep. Bennett. “The remarkable group was deserving of the praise they received. Known for their diverse musical performance style, they have appeared at festivals throughout Metro Atlanta and opened for acclaimed entertainers.”
Under the direction of Craig Johnson, Shiloh High School Concert Choir performs classical choral works, along with gospel, country, pop, and R&B compositions. The group has performed in Washington, DC during two inaugural events for President Obama, in addition to opening for numerous gospel recording artists such as Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker and Dottie Peoples. Other noteworthy performances include the Martin Luther King, Jr., Annual Commemorative Service and the 2012 Praise In The Park at Centennial Park.
