ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain) will partner with Voices of Faith Ministries to host two COVID-19 vaccination events for its church members and the community. The free vaccination event schedule is as follows:
- Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Voices of Faith location on 2500 Rockbridge Road SW in Stone Mountain;
- Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Voices of Faith location on 1290 Sigman Road in Conyers.
“The delta variant of the coronavirus is rapidly moving through the state and the country, and the unvaccinated are more vulnerable,” said Rep. Bennett. “It is important that everyone understands that this virus affects everyone in some way, whether by actual infection or by the consequences of others becoming ill. The sooner it can be eradicated, the sooner we stop being vulnerable to its potentially deadly affects.”
Members of the church, as well as the community, are eligible for vaccination. The Moderna vaccine will be administered at both events. The Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale county health departments will have personnel on-site to administer the vaccine.
The seriousness of this virus and its impact on communities in House District 94 prompted Rep. Bennett to partner with Voices of Faith to facilitate administering free vaccines. Among Rep. Bennett’s services to the community, she advocates for equitable access to healthcare, education, economic empowerment and employment.
Voices of Faith Ministries is under the leadership of Bishop Gary Hawkins, Sr. The ministries were founded on the biblical principle of faith and strongly believe in changing lives through faith.
Representative Karen Bennett represents the citizens of Districts 94, which includes portions of DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2012 and currently serves on the Code Revision, Economic Development & Tourism, Health & Human Services and Regulated Industries committees.
