Rep. Kelley Welcomed Polk County College and Career Academy Students at State Capitol

ATLANTA – State Representative Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown) led the Georgia House of Representatives in recognizing welding students from Polk County College and Career Academy during a Morning Order in the House Chamber of the Georgia State Capitol on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.

“I was honored Polk College Studentsto host welding students and a teacher, Matt Hayden, from Polk County College and Career Academy at their State Capitol,” said Rep. Kelley. “Georgia’s economy depends on having a skilled highly trained work force. These students as well as the teachers at PCCCA continue to play a critical role in developing our workforce and growing our economy.”

“It was great to represent the welding program at PCCCA – Cedartown and to see the governing process firsthand,” said Ethan Holder, a student at PCCCA.

“It was an honor to be a guest of Representative Kelley and Governor Deal,” said Matt Hayden, an instructor at PCCCA. “We were shown around and recognized on the floor of the Georgia House of Representatives by Representative Kelley and I am proud to help represent our Polk County College and Career Academy.”

During their visit, the Polk College and Career Academy welding students met with Governor Nathan Deal and toured the Georgia State Capitol. The students visited the Capitol with SkillsUSA, an organization for students, teachers and industries to work together to empower America’s workforce.

Representative Trey Kelley represents the citizens of District 16, which includes portions of Bartow, Haralson and Polk counties.
