ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) was recently recognized by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), a research initiative from the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University, as one of Georgia’s most consistently effective legislators in the 157th Georgia General Assembly (2023–2024).
“This recognition is not about titles—it’s about trust, tenacity and putting people first,” said Rep. Schofield. “Effective lawmaking requires listening to communities, building bipartisan coalitions and refusing to accept that change isn’t possible. I am honored to be named but more honored to serve.”
The CEL report highlights lawmakers who have “Exceeded Expectations” in drafting, advancing and passing legislation.

Representative Kim Schofield represents the citizens of District 63, which includes a portion of Fulton County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2017 and currently serves as Secretary of the Urban Affairs Committee.
