ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) and other state legislators recently held a roundtable discussion on pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Georgia State Capitol. The roundtable discussion aimed to highlight issues related to PBMs, and it included presentations, a question-and-answer segment and a discussion on legislative solutions.
“The roundtable was incredibly educational and enlightening,” said Rep. Schofield. “We were able to dive deeply into the complexities of PBMs, which allowed for a clear understanding of both the current challenges and actionable solutions.”
Experts, patient advocates and policymakers served as panelists during the roundtable discussion, including Greg Reybold, Dr. Robert Levin, Dr. John Goldman, Michael Power and Dorothy Leone Glasser.
State Representatives Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Sandra Scott (D-Rex), Rhonda Burnough (D-Riverdale), Carolyn Hugley (D-Columbus), Sheila Jones (D-Atlanta), Debra Bazemore (D-South Fulton), Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain), State Senators Nikki Merritt (D-Grayson) and Nan Orrock (D-Atlanta), along with other stakeholders, industry representatives and medical association members, also attended the roundtable discussion.

Representative Kim Schofield represents the citizens of District 63, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2017 and currently serves as the Secretary of the Urban Affairs Committee. She also serves on the Creative Arts & Entertainment, Health, Interstate Cooperation and Small Business Development committees.
