ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) will host Lupus Day at the State Capitol TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 8 – 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. in room 510 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building.
Lupus advocates, caregivers and legislators will wear purple capes to recognize Lupus Day at the Capitol. More than 55,000 Georgians are currently living with lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the body’s immune system attacks its own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect different body systems, including the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.
